Checking car milage
Is there any way of checking a cars milage using vag com to see if the car has been clocked?
RE: Checking car milage
Yes, there is a function within the latest version of Vagcom, but it doesn't work with all ECUs.

Care to elaborate Clive or has this topic been covered elsewhere?CliveH wrote:Yes, there is a function within the latest version of Vagcom, but it doesn't work with all ECUs.

Dazzer - you need the latest version 7.
It's in Applications, here : http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/tour/a ... creen.html
If the ECU supports it, it will also be reported at the end of a full scan.
Oddly enough, Vagcom won't read the mileage on my 2000 S4, but it did read it on a 1998 S4 I went to look at recently
The Vagcom online manual suggests that it currently only works with TDi ECUs.

there's 2 seperate functions, one that reads the odometer mileage and then a second that reads a mileage calculation held in the ECU which is based on your speed apparantly. i'd guess the one on the vag-com scan is the odometer reading

Are you sure that you are talking about the same function as others here do? They do NOT mean the mileage displayed in the Auto-Scan, they mean the separate function on the applications screen.Dom81 wrote:Vag-com mileage scan works on my B7 RS4, and matches the odometer...

This function is at the moment only supposed to read the mileage from EDC15 Diesel ECU's. However, your RS4 ECU might store the mileage directly in MVB 085.1
