Beware of car stealers!

Post by C-24 » Sun Jul 22, 2007 7:31 pm

Hi guys,

Hope everyone's having a nice holiday. I just wanted to tell you how easy it is to steal an S4.

I parked my car in front of my building in Belgrade at 7:30pm. I had done 1400km (from Geneva to Belgrade), I picked my stuff out of the car and put them in my place. I talked with some members of my family who live there for about an hour and checked my car several times.
At 8:15 the S4 is still there but I decide to go to put it in the garage of someone of the family.

In just 2minutes, just the time for me to get in the street, the car is missing, I thought I was getting crazy because I was tired.
So I check on the right and I see my s4 at the red light !
I sprint as fast as I can (I think I've never runned that fast!) and start to how at the robber "Get the f##k out of the car! now !" etc... the guy was shocked and see me running. I see him getting out of the car and taking his "tools" and he runs...

Fortunately, my car is safe now, but I saw that the robber wasn't alone, there was a lot more of them they were disgusted that I came there that fast. I counted like 8 to 10 robbers, called the cops and they went away...

The robber entered the car with no key, he didn't brake anything except the cylinder where you put the ignition on. He had a special tool that can help you steal a Cayenne Turbo or an Audi Q7 in 2-3minutes....!

My car has been repaired and everything's ok now.
I just wanted to tell you guys that our S4 can be very easily stealed!

Watch out...
and have a nice day.

No I meant there were 8 to 10 guys covering the robber's back. The robber was the only one in the car. While I was running, the only thing that got through my mind was that I must not let the car go when the light goes green.

Fortunately the car was repaired. The robber made a mistake, he didn't want to damage the car (surely because they wanted to resell it) but with his tool he put too much power on the dashboard (don't ask me how, but I think it is via the OBDII port) in order to "hack" it and he burned some electronic pieces, thus the car didn't want to start.

The robber didn't have a laptop, but some kind of a small diagnostic tool. I found once on the internet, a tool that car start our cars ''without any key'', and it's legal.....!

People tell me I was crazy to run after those gangsters, because those who were around surely had guns. But, what wouldn't we do for our beautiful audi's ?? :biggrin3:

Cheers :beerchug:

Man I am always concerned about something like this happening to my car. I always wanted to fit some form of manual switch to kill something crucial - or at the very least a manual switch to turn off the n75 dropping power to 200ish... save them ragging the sh!t out of the car. Biggest worry of course is being hijacked.

Fortunately not too many stories of S4's being targeted at the moment, lets hope it stays that way.

So glad you caught the little fcukers and got your car back. What are the chances of something like that happening!! Very lucky escape indeed, lets hope that is the last you see of them.

Personally, i wouldn't want my car back if it had been stolen.

THB, I think theives would be more interested in the RS4's

Car jacking is a risk too, the more beautiful the car, I’d say the bigger the risk especially as a fast get away car! Start looking at the Clifford concept if it worries you. Those alarms do some great things!....for a price!

I heard about an alarm that costs around 150 pounds, very effective.

When they see that you got the stock alarm system they don't hesitate and enter easily... I'm sure they did notice the brembo braking system, and they wanted to litterary take off with the car.

In belgrade, criminals often take your car and then call you back and ask for money!

All in all, I'm happy everything went good.

I swear buy a Disklok and don't keep the key with the car key.
Apparently thieves hate 'em.

put a switch on the lines to your diagnostic port - then thieves cannot de immobilse the ecu.

The more common method nowadays (in UK) is for the toerag to break into your house or threaten you to hand over the keys (applies to most cars nowadays) . The answer is to get something like the Clifford BlackJax system which allows them to drive the car away for maybe 1/4 or 1/2 a mile and then it dies and alarm and lights start going like mad. I've seen it in action!

Much as i detest people who think they have more right to your property than you do i firmly believe that a car isn't worth putting yourself in danger to protect. they can have it for me just as long as they leave me and my family alone
