Specialists in Bucks, Berks, Oxon

Post by PaulR » Wed Jul 18, 2007 9:24 am

Was surprised yesterday when I discovered AMD has moved from Bicester to Thurrock, making it a real pain to continue to use them. Want to get car serviced, and also some suspension bushes changed (and hence realigned). Alternative specialists in the area appear to be MRC (Banbury) or Fontain (Slough). I have seen recommendations for MRC but nothing about Fontain from service perspective with these cars (B5 RS4). Are there any others within a sensible radius of High Wycombe that have good recommendations? I guess I could be drawn back to the dealership network ???

Appreciate input and views, and any other tipped specialists in the area.

Thanks, ... Paul.

APS: www.autops.co.uk are Ex AmD folks in that part of the world, with a good reputation from what I've seen.

Very helpful sounding on the phone, and I am now awaiting a call back with some numbers. However, as far as suspension is concerned I need to get front lower and upper suspension arms rebushed and they are recommending replacement arms rather than replacing bushes because they say it's generally more economical, ... which has generated a very uneasy expecation in my wallet. Is this common?

Paul.

The ball joints also wears so replacing just the bush is considered uneconomical by most

Are you in north or south Bucks? If south and getting to the M4 is easy enough, then you could also consider Dailynx in Swindon.

Am in South Bucks, near High Wycombe, so Swindon is quite easy either by M4 or Oxford and A420. And much the same distance as MRC or APS. Will give them a call on Monday if I can't get a confirm a slot with either of the others I've tried. Paul.
