Cup tyres
Drove it on the track for the first time on wednesday. first time for me in this car and full stop for that matter so didn't get the chance to use it properly I'm sure. Plus track was Brands Hatch indy which is two small for a car like the RS4 really.
anyway very quick on the straights and not uninvolving in the corners.
Someone very kindly brought along his track day car, a Carrera GT. still got overtaken by a guy in a souped up VW golf Mk2.
the track makes a huge difference to powerful cars

I couldn't make it last Wednesday, maybe this wednesday coming though...
Was the Golf Mk2 black with very little trim??...If so that could be the Reeves car 300bhp 1.8T 900ishkg and slicks, guy has raced a GT3 cup in the VLN series...so don't feel too bad if he disappeared into the distance
Did you get an indication of time it took to do a lap of the indy?..I would be suprised/impressed if a reasonable driver could get a standard car round in much less than a minute........that Reeves mk2 is 53-54 secs I believe

I did the indy this week in my bog standard Avant on stealer supplied Conti Sport tyres. I was consistently hitting 1min 2 secs - traffic permitting. My only issue was the tyre squeal, for which i was pulled up a few times.
I was able to hold lotus' round the track, as they were quick on the bends but couldnt catch me on the straights. Subarus were less quick on corners, and still not able to catch me on the straights. I had a few people make comments about the car and its performance during the day.
There was also a Mk2 Golf there - silver, LHD and on German plates- and he was unbeleivably quick.
Mikey, did you speak to Darren or Andy from MSV whilst there, as they quoted a black Avant recently there and thought i looked remarkably like the owner of that car.

Everyone is unique, just like you and me.

Your dead right - these tyres (Corsa's) were specially designed for the RS4 from launch and had rave reviews on them at the time. Not ideal for general road use with standing water as they don't develop full grip until they are really hot.Pirelli Zero CORSA for 255/35/19" are available. They do a great job, especially in corners ... hunting CSL & 997C2S with an AVANT is just FUN
So Junkie, do you have a set?
Looking for track tyres to do the Scuderia with, so can anyone suggest/recommend which is the better tyre for track use on the RS4?? I will be getting a 2nd set of wheels for track use but they will be re-conditioned B7 RS4 wheels, so the tyres need to be 19". Intend to drive over & back with road tyres & have the 2nd set of wheels complete with track rubber in the boot/back seat.
Cheers in advance.

Paul, Ive asked for a price on the Corsa tyres. I had them on the RS4, and they do work well. I'm concerned that our cars would devour Pilot Sport Cups.

Excellent.
Are the Corsa's more £££'s than the Cups?? Would you say they perform better than the Cups or on a par??

I had the Corsa tyres second hand and had a fair bit of use out of them. With what I have seen and heard of the Pilot Sport Cups, I don't think they will last as long. Looking at the prices, they should be the same, or even a little less (I hope).
