DOUBLE HELP NEEDED, seats again

Post by fossil » Fri Jul 06, 2007 9:25 pm

have got the buckets on order, I know its been done to death, but would anybody with the buckets please be able to measure the dimensions across the seat cushon, across the back cushon, the height of the side bolsters and any other dimensions that you may think of, I have a mk IV golf R32 at the moment and I just want to see how the seats measure up. Sorry to be a pain but don't want to make a costly mistake, thanks as usual.

Would it not be easier just to pop into a local Audi dealers in the morning & sit in one, or take a tape measure with you?? You'll then be sure the seat is right for you.

If no RS4's around then try a new S3, as apart from the electrics & the back panel, the seat part is the same assuming the S3 was spec'd with buckets.

The comfort seats are fantastic - i highly recommend you change your spec whilst you can. Your bum will thank you!

Thanks t-urbo have compared them to my R32, the cushion and bolsters seem similar but the back is a lot slimmer almost 3cm, I thimk I will go to the dealer on monday and see if the dealer in jersey, or on the south coast has got one, I need to try them for myself. It's starting to rule my life, and my build date is 16 july.

Bloody hell, you're going through exacly what i did - i spent about 8 hours in the dealer on two weekend climbing from one car to the other. I was lucky in that the dealer had two cars to try. I decided in the end that the getting in and out of the car was so uncomfortable for me with the buckets that it would be a real pain to live with. Also i knew that giving people a lift in the car would be a real hassle with the buckets (nb the rear seat room is almost none existent with buckets). In the end I ordered the comfort seats and honestly from the moment I got the car I have never given the seats another thought, just love the car to bits - funny how we can get obsessive about stuff. Out of interest when my car arrived it had coloured stitching on the seats as opposed to contrasting piping - i think this is how the comfort seats are made now - not a huge difference, but it definately makes them look a little more sporty than the seats with piping. NB. I am not dishing people's cars with bucket seats, they look great, but I think they only suit the athletic build - i'm 6'1 anf 14 stone.
