Looks like some quality welds on there - what is it you do for a living?

Do these make a substantial amount of difference to the exhaust note?

You fancy making some tubular manifolds :-)

i am making as many as i can as long as people want them, there are videos on youtube so u can hear the sound of them, search for 'hobbys9' u should see 2 videos, im a mechanical engineer by trade mainly machining but dabble in a bit of fabrication as well. tubular manifolds are a hell of a lot more complicated to make id have to see them to see if i could make them.

Sorry for the late reply but been out all weekend :rocker: . Managed to get the straight through back box fitted over the weekend. First impressions on receiving the exhaust was the workmanship was of a very high standard. When I matched it against the OE exhaust it revealed that on my car I would have to cut the OE exhaust between the back and middle boxes. I ordered a sleeve similar to the ones on the dual pipes from cats to middle box - only 65mm diameter instead of 55mm - from my local dealer although I suppose they can be got anywhere. Managed to cut the OE exhaust while it was still on the car - just behind the diff. Cutting on the car was no bother. Then it was a straight forward bolt off old back box, swap mounts and bolt on new Hobson custom pipe. All in all took about 30mins. It has been pissing it down here for the rest of the weekend so have not managed to take any pictures of the pipe in place ( at least this time it has been all over the UK and nae just Scotland ! ). So job done, now how does it sound ?....... Well to be honest it sounds exactly like it does on the youtube vids - which in real life is pretty amazing although I haven't done much driving this weekend so will get back with further comments in a couple of days. For £200 i have absolutely no complaints - Cheers HobsonS4 :beerchug:

Hello to all.

Have just received confirmation that HobsonS4 can fabricate one of these for me, but there is one question - are Saloon and Avant back boxes the same size, have the same mounting bracketry etc ?.

Regards,

rsdreamer.

Hi chaps.

Sorry for keep going on about this, but does anybody know if B5 S4 Avant and Saloon backboxes are of the same dimenssions / have the same mounting bracketry etc.

Regards,

rsdreamer.
