They open at 11am. The plan was that since the Ring isn't open on the Monday till early aftermoon we would fill in with something else, the orginal idea was High Speed autobahn runs. Last time we where there we notice the Kart circuit and I just thought it would be a giggle if we rented the place for a few hours prior to the track opening.

As Phil said in an earlier post, 3 or 4 of us are doing the Scuderia Hanseat from the 5th-8th & we're stopping over for the entire weekend heading back on the Tue i think.

We're sailing over Hull-Rotterdam on the 3rd (overnight) then a quick pootle through Holland & Belgium before arriving at The Ring mid afternoon on the 4th & getting ready for 4 days intense training. For someone who asked, i think both tracks are used during the 4 days so some time on the GP track & plenty of time on a (closed to the public) Nordschleife.

I'm up for the Karting if their's space.

OK, got pricing back for an endurance race

1.5 Hr race with 0.5hr practise for upto 10 teams 1587.50 Euros
2.5 Hr race with 0.5hr practise for upto 10 teams 2222.50 Euros

At current exchange rate this equates to

1.5hr £ 1069.76
2.5hr £ 1497.78

If we want top three trophies that would be an extra 74 Euros

The circuit wants the money with the booking so......I'll need the dosh before we book.

What do we think ????

Some more info

There seems to be a 20 driver limit (not sure why) and if we want a English speaking instructor it's another 85 Euros.

The time 2.5 hr circuit hire for the 1.5hr race and 3.5 hr circuit hire for the 2.5 hr race

Thanks jeffers.

My thoughts:

If they open at 11, we should go for the 1.5 hour one, as I expect it would take 3 hours total, meaning we will be clear by 2pm and get good track time on the ring the rest of the day.

We should have trophies, so assuming 10 teams, its just over £100 / team - bargain. 1.5 hours is do able by 2 or 3. 4 is too many as you swap too often (too little driving time and not chance to win !!!)

The only issue is that we will need to guarentee the number of teams before we book.

I agree that the 1.5 hr race is probable the way to go (will take approx 2.5 hrs in total). I think we will need to get 1 person responsible for each team including payment.

So a deadly hush descends when the fatal words "Money up front" are mentioned....

So I'll start the ball rolling

Team

1. Team Weave - Jeffw Captain
2. Team Weave Too - Jeffw Captain
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10.

We need 7 teams to make this worthwhile. Team Captain is responsible to pay the money for his/her team on request (ie straight away not "cheques in the post" or "just waiting for Bob to pay me" or any one of a thousand excuses). If your name is down as team captain you must pay regardless of what the rest of your team get up to.

Race will be 11am start, 1.5 hr endurance race with 1/2 practise.

Once we get to 7 teams I will collect monies and then book the track. Cost per team is

1.5hr £ 1070
Trophies £ 60
Total £ 1130

Per Team £ 1130 / 7 = £ 161.43
