Ten of the Best VI

Post by DavidT » Tue Jun 19, 2007 9:03 pm

Takes place on Sunday 27th July.

Entry fee is £ 100 and there are 3 disciplines: 1/4 mile, max speed and handling course. See www.totb.co.uk

I've contacted the organiser, they are interested in having a team of Audi S/RS cars and have spaces. I'm up for it, anyone else fancy it ?

I know Brett was looking to do it.

Come on Tom, you know you want too :)

We need to show our entrants are capable of sub 13.5 qtr's, nothing more to get in.

Closing date for entries is Monday 2nd July (payment by cheque which is only cashed if entry is accepted)

No worries Tom.

The lack of interest stuns me to be honest. Is this a website of 'observers' ?

tbh dave it's a lot of money and a hell of a drive for most people not to mention the stress on your car  been to a few of these and if you want to be competitive you need at least 500bhp  i for one wouldn't wanna risk a 240 mile round trip, then doing a few very hard launches and shredding my tyres on the circuit

If I had the league of car I'd do it.

I have seen coverage of this event on TV and it looks great, but SERIOUS in terms of vehicles there. Serious serious cars. I'd love a monster Audi S or RS to mix it up a bit though, we have plenty here.
Present: 2010 Ice silver B8 S4 s-tronic saloon (standard)
Past: 1998 Agate grey B5 S4 saloon (MRC tuned)
Hers: 2011 Volcano red 8P A3 Sportback 2.0 TDI 170 sport quattro

To be honest David this is way out of my league as well....lots of Skylines, Evos and Subarus with monster engines and weighing next to nothing. 420-430BHP in a B5 S4 doesn't even come close to the serious cars.
Like everyone else I'm loved to see Lucas, MRC boys, viperbl etc having a go.....

It doesn't matter to me who is there. The cars we have are virtually uncompromised road cars. There are 100 cars entered and only a few expect to win.

I expect the Audi's to do reasonably well on all three disciplines, but not to get close to the specialist cars for each.

Interested, but the same with all of these events - I have to travel from the deep south + I need suspension sorted before then! Not sure I would be ready in time. I will keep an eye on this.
