1. because in certain cases it will affect the resale/market for the car

and

2. because I'm in the market for an RS4 myself Jerry!! Can't live with buckets day to day and for resale would always have Recaro's (AKA "Old man seats" )

Gareth
 Well said I love my Recaros, would not be without them. :)

They look great, but I've had back problems/surgery in the past and don't get on with them for any more than half an hour. If it wasn't for that I would certainly have the buckets Jerry 8)

Alternatively, try listing it on the Cars page on Bloomberg, if you know someone in financial markets, they could lis tif for you. That's where a lot of decent cars get sold

They have been losing far more than that in Glasses but taken as an average for the 4/5 months it has appeared in the guide £1k is a fair number.

So I presume we will see the first saloon change hands for under £40k (trade) when the new book come out?

I am searching for an Avant at the moment and am quite concerned by the residual values. Glasses shows a drop of over £1600 from last month to this! But finance houses are typically quoting a residual of circa 24K after 3 years. Some price guides like Autoexpress even quote a 59% residual after 3 years, more for the cabrio.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what is going on? The car has had great reviews, the total number of Avants around (although the Audi website has quite a few) must be quite low. Finance houses are typically quoting a residual of circa 24K after 3 years. Some price guides like Autoexpress even quote a 59% residual after 3 years....

The car is the dogs, so what is the problem? the economy?

:?

The avant has not dropped by £1,600 in Glasses guide. The movement from May to June (with July due early next week) is -£725

You need to remember that the RS4 has only appeared in the trade guides for 4 months now and the values never settle or find any real pattern in the first 6-9 months of appearance in the guides. However if you took a mean average of £1k per month (typical for this part of the market) you would not be far wrong.

As for Autoexpress they really don't have a clue about the real car business at all

Hope that helps?

Just assuming that book will be c£42k and a cheeky bid of £2k under sometimes gets the car!

Makes me wonder whether swapping my M3 into an early RS4 is a wise choice when the M3 arrives as the price spread for a private deal could be nearly £20k in the autumn.
