RS4 Turbos

Hi,

Some of you S4 boys have had the RS4 turbos fitted, I want to check, the RS4 has the same turbos as the S4 (K04s). Are the RS4 K04s different to the S3 K04 or is it just more glamarous to say you have RS4 turbos fitted rather than S3 turbos?
TBH I expect they are different but...

Some of you S4 boys have had the RS4 turbos fitted, I want to check, the RS4 has the same turbos as the S4 (K04s).

I'm relatively new to the S cars, but it is my understanding that the S4 has K03 turbos - not K04s. The K04s are fitted to the RS4, and in order to fit them to an S4 there are one or two additional parts required, plus an ECU remap. I'm sure that Dippy has done this mod, and I believe someone else is currently considering it - check out the S4 forum for the 'Ooops' post

There are two RS246 members that have had the KO4 conversion, myself and Prawn. Jeff Wiltshire is planning to have this carried out soon too. Have I missed anyone?

Dippy's car has the full Milltek (downpipes and cat back) plus remap but nut the KO4's (yet!!)

The conversion from standard S4 normally involves:

- The RS4 turbos with modified piping so that they fit
- Full Milltek exhaust including free flow cats
- Samco Hoses
- Modified ECU

Result is 400+ BHP - enough to notice the difference [img]images/graemlins/wink.gif[/img] [img]images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I think dunc means the same as the S3 not S4

Could it just be that the manifolds are different.

For example the S4 KKK03 turbos have the exhaust manifold as an integral part of them.

What I mean is that the actual turbo could the the same for the S3 and RS4, the difference could be that the RS4 has a 3 port exhaust manifold joint on. Presumably the S3 would have a 4 port exhaust manifold on it.
