Weird Vag Com gremlins

Post by yorkie » Mon Jun 11, 2007 8:13 pm

Mate wanted to see how Vag Com worked so I had him take me out in his A4 1.8T and did some engine measuring blocks.

We get half way up the road and all of a sudden the readings change from rpm, maf and a couple of others to stuff to do with the radio???

Logged in the engine module a fault code for radio short to ground too??

Then finally got an error message saying that module could not be accessed.

Shut down the program, went back in and we were back to the original engine measuring blocks.

Anyone seen this before?

Latest is 704.3 IIRC - just press the "Check for updates" button to get the latest.

It's still 704.1 but that shouldn't have to do with this. However, by Ross-Tech USB I assume you are talking about a KEY-USB. Any more info on your friends car? Year, chassis code? Anything special we should know about the car?

I have the latest interface dual k and can usb?

Car is a 2000 A4 Quattro Turbo, engine recently replaced, runs like a dog but no fault codes.

Not actually suggesting this is a fault with Vag-Com, more likely the cars ecu so I ask again anyone experience similar problems?
