I doubt a ko4 conversion would have fixed this as the hoses still would not be right!
I know, I know, Doug, but someone else just might have spotted the other problems in the process...but then again...

What amazes me most about this is that if it was a standard S4 N75 valve the "technicians" installed then to put it in the wrong way round would result in the socket for the ecu lead being rotated through 180deg and facing the opposite way to normal - this would make it difficult to install to say the least (i know this because I have an S2 N75 valve in mine which has the socket placed on the opposite side to the S4 valve by design - and it was a bitch to install...)

edit: even if they put the N75 valve in the right way round with respect to the ecu socket, but connected up the hoses the wrong way round, then it's still just as astounding; how the hell they could get the right hand (straight) hose on to where the left hand (curved hose with the grommet mount) should go, and vice versa, must've been a feat in itself ... i'm amazed the right hand hose could stretch far enough ... !

Bizarre!

Which was it Yorkie: valve installed the wrong way or hoses switched ..?

well - since I have had another 2 cars in with the same problem and other "specialists" told them they need new turbos!

it was not the n75 that was the wrong way - it is the small bore vacuum hoses that were mixed up on the back of the heads - not the ones that connect to teh n75 - the ones that connect to y pieces below that.

Lots of experience with 'specialists' and 'tuners' in this little corner of the web we call RS246. It's not all good :(

I heard another one last week. If I did not know the guy who told me, I would not have believed it :(
