On the specification sheet on the first page of the service manual, does it indicate the actual build date amongst all the colour codes, options fitted etc - just curious.
Or is there a data base of chassis numbers somewhere with build dates?

VIN position 10 denotes the year of production (with a "7" being 2007). As Glyn says you can get full details from the chassis number and I presume the program works out the build month from this using the last 6 digits which is the serial production number.
