As we all know, private sales on cars over £30k are hard work. Indeed given the time it takes and the fact that the spreads are actually quite small on these cars, its often better value to sell soon to a dealer rather than take two months privately and go through two month end price drops on the way.Gareth wrote:not now....Trade price for a 06/56 with 9k miles is £51,550 with the retail guide price at £55,000.Jezzer wrote:As much as that??
Private sale price would be somewhere between the two figures.
Value of my car?
Maserati GranTurismo GTS Auto, S3 Sportback, TT2 3.2 Roadster, Disco3 for the heavy stuff.
Look at this - massive spread depending on condition. Give that an 07 car is going to be perfect, what it tells you is that the trade doesn't know how to value them; ie it doesn't want them. My advice would be to ring six dealers, get the best price and dump it - remember from August onwards, dealers don't buy cabs.

Agreed, but still worth a try for a private sale to at least gauge the market.
£30k is still the natural cut off for most buyers as they only feel comfortable spending over that at a main dealership.
