f off ring tone

Post by philroach » Sat Jun 02, 2007 12:29 am

ok , so not the most serious post , but..............if you want to wow everyone with your car , what is the best way to record the fantastic exhaust/engine sound , and make it your ring tone ?????

have tried it while parked , nicely warmed up engine etec etc, but still sounds a little lame , do you need to get your best mate to lie on the pavemen and hold your phone on record as you hoon past at 6000rpm , or is there a better way from in the car ????????????????

any ridiculous theories

cheers

phil

Phil.....with a post like that you must be from Croydon...oh look you are! :thumb: !

Try Wellesley Road underpass.....that should echo nicely!

My freind did this on his car
he used a dicterphone thing, I gave him a NOkia car kit Mic and he stuck the mic to the bumper and moved it until he got the sound he wanted, downloaded it from PC to Phone Via Bluetooth Job done

It sounded ok

Porsche do ring tones..I had the GT3 on mine

Squeeze in here and interupt... speaking of Porker, did you get my PM?

On topic, Using a mic will obviously get you the best sound possible. Other than taking the whole car into a recording studio. I know a few if you wanted, 600 quid an hour plus demolition and re-building costs....

Rediculous enough? :D

I'd stick with the dictaphone route, may try it myself.

Its ok Phil, I dont tell many people Phil but i was born and bred in Croydon, that makes me a Croydonian! Argh!

Im being nosey, but who do you work for in Wallington?

I have to say Woody's M5 does sound awesome and is lovely all round car, just a shame it doesnt have 4 rings on the front and back!
