How much do yours weigh?

Post by MarkB » Mon Jun 04, 2007 8:40 pm

Just changed my wheels from B5 RS4 reps 8" x 18" to BBS CH's 8.5" x 18"

Both fitted with 225/40's

Original wheels 24KG, new wheels.... 20KG!

That's a saving of 4KG per wheel and tyre. 20KG less to lug around including the spare. Original rep wheels 20% heavier!

Car feels SO much better now... Me Happy :kissmyrings:

That's where I loose, B5 RS4 brakes ain't lightweight, though I've heard the B7 kit isn't light either.

Dave, can you stick one of your many standard 17's on the bathroom scales, be interested to hear what they weigh?

You can honestly tell the difference from such a small saving? Is that not the same saving as having a fat passenger compared to the girlfriend?!?!?!?

Its to do with your unsprung weight and rotational mass. Reduce this and the car will feel a lot lighter on is feet.

Chuck two bags of coal in the boot you will probably not notice the difference.

I'll be looking out for a pair off those calipers me thinks. Will fit a treat over my discs :)
