Mark

just thought they looked good in the brochure with the contrast between the leather and race cloth, reminded me more of a race style seat.

when I specced the car it was something I never even concidered but perhaps I should. I have not seen an actual car with them.

I hope to get mine this week, I am reliably informed it is somewhere on route in the UK. The dealer is good so he should be able to turn it round in a couple of days.

Cant wait :)

My buckets have the race cloth and leather. It was a car in stock at the dealer and at the time there was not another available with full leather. I got a good deal on the car but had second thoughts when a car became available with buckets in full leather due to a cancelled order. Since then though I have met up with the person who bought the car with the full leather buckets. We both came to the concluson that the race cloth does really go well with the carbon trim. I've always had full leather before wherever possible but in this case the race cloth has really grown on me.

As for the debate regarding the Recaros vs buckets I really would not want a car with the Recaros as I think the buckets make the interior that bit special.

Would go again for buckets. Might be a bit of a squeeze to get in, but once seated they're the most comfortable seats I've had. Certainly more comfortable than the B5's Recaros. And missus goes on raving about them (probably because she's so glad she fits in them).

Half clothed buckets would be even better. They are less slippery. Some B5 were fitted with half-suede (alcantara) seats and were great for that.

Go buckets!

I choose recaros because of comfort the buckets just nip a little here and there and I felt they would irritate. Really pleased with the recaros adn they look good in the car as they have the rs4 logo and the added bonus of being electric. A really comfortable supportive seat.

After many hours jumping between a car with buckets and a car with the recaro seats - i chose the recaro. Yes i like the look of the buckets more, but as my job requires a lot of short trips, I figured I just could not live daily with the buckets. With a little practice I found getting in the buckets was OK, but getting out was literally a pain in the thigh! Also the buckets seem to suffer from a collapsing side squab - I doubt they will look great 18 months down the line.

Saw some buckets with half race cloth - I take it back - I was surprised, they looked great!

The B7 wouldn't look the same without the modern 'style' bucket seats, and believe this to be part and parcel of the modern RS4; and certainly enhances the look of the car.

The reason I say 'style' is because these are not the real bucket seats. The real Racaro buckets are the ones with the hard plastic/carbon shell which have more prominent wings around the thighs and shoulders. I have seen these on other Audi cars such as B5 RS4's, Quattro GMBH TTR's and TT Sport.

These seats can only be adjusted with an allen key and have no electrical devices with them - i.e heater elements, air bags etc.

Yes, a little extra effort is required getting in and out of them (the new 'style' seat I mean), but great on long journeys - better than the standard seats!

Mac - mad about Audi's..
