Sorry, couldn't resist. Should have put a wink after ;)

After watching the cars at the weekend you can see how much difference you can get on each run. If it's a head to head SO much comes in to who wins. Take Daz in the B7 RS4, beat Simon in the CSL but then later Simon posted faster times. Fact is though Daz still won the head to head.

Don't blame him for not running again, he had nothing more to prove.

Reading a post elsewhere has made me realise the the 60ft time is the indication of how efficient the launch was. After that you are rolling but standstill to 60ft is all down to your start. Obvious but I never looked at the other times on the slip before.

Can we all add our timeslip details from the 20th May - it would be good to compare DavidTs 12.4 with Leons and see how the 60ft and other times differ. I think Leon was getting between 1.7 and 1.9s.

The 60ft time on my 13.7 is 1.91 and I wasn't being what I would call too hard on the car.

Be interesting to compare the rest of the times and see where you rip away....

1.9101 - 60ft
5.7802 - 330ft
8.8541 - 1/8 @ 79.92 mph
11.4334 - 1000ft
13.7180 - 1/4 @ 101.64mph

Proof is in the 60ft time as on that run I was next to a '04' Impreza WRX STI Type 25 (350BHP) who told me he was dropping the clutch at 4K plus - he must have messed up as his 60ft was 2.2 and he got a 14.09 1/4 that go!

Here are mine... my best 60ft time was 1.8538.

Here is my best time:

1.9310 - 60ft
5.3891 - 330ft
8.1510 @ 92.74MPH - 1/8
10.4031 - 1000ft
12.4240 @ 115.06MPH - 1/4

None of my launches were very good. DavidT and I both agree the perfect launch would be a 1.6s 60ft time. Not sure how possible this would be, but if I did manage that I would almost certainly crack 11's. THe time I posted here is as per the vid clip and I suffer huge wheel spin + I hit the limiter and must loose a great deal of time in my change to 2nd. I was not sure if I was suffering clutch slip or wheel slip till I hit the limiter - D'oh! It was my first attempt at launching a car with this much power, so I think I did pretty well keeping it consistent and posting the best Audi time of the day... Dave so nearly had me - its war lol

So from 60ft to 330ft you already had four tenths on me, after 1000ft a whole second and after the quarter you were just under 1.3 secs quicker.

Such precise timing, you can see why they go to four decimal places on the slips, no room for rounding figures in this game!

I'm guessing DavidT had a quicker 60ft and a slower terminal speed with you clawing back the time in the middle, resulting in a higher terminal speed with the greater power....we'll have to wait for David.....

Morning all, I think a 1.6 would be very good. here is my fastest run:

1.7679 - 60ft
5.2431 - 330ft
8.0808 @ 89.13MPH - 1/8
10.3848 - 1000ft
12.4868 @ 111.68MPH - 1/4

Plenty of racer's excuses there Leon  when are going to have another go at it ?

Looks like Leon only pulls it back after the 1000ft point with his higher terminal speed. Interesting stuff!

Great 60ft time David.

Interesting... Seems I match your pace pretty much earlier on, just loose it on the poor start, make up for it later. Have to do another POD trip later in the year :)

Yeah seen that. Unfortunate it is focused on my car till we get moving. Be nice to see the launches side by side.
