Is any ones car a little hesitant at constant revs?
Is any ones car a little hesitant at constant revs?
When cold my car seems a little hesitant in that i can travel along at about 20/30mph with my foot on the throttle in one place and it hesitates and feels as though its missing a bit. When its warm it still happens but not as noticeable. I had this some time ago with an old r32 I had and they had a reflash that fixed this. Is there something similar for the rs4? I have also noticed that when you blip the throttle the revs hang a bit too long before dropping back to tick over, im guessing this is some anti stall precaution in the ecu but its irritating especially when you are trying to rev match.
RE: Is any ones car a little hesitant at constant revs?
how old is your car?. There is an ecu upgrade (done already on 2007) which covers some misfires and flat spots.
RE: Is any ones car a little hesitant at constant revs?
Its a 2007 car registered april this year. Do you know what the ECU upgrade was called? or any details I could supply to the dealer to query if it has been done. Thanks.

Mine Does exactly the same. Probably common. Mine is a March 07 car.

Can't say that I've noticed the hesitation, but agree with the throttle blip comment - it's seems a little slower that the S4 on a free rev increase, and MUCH slower to return to idle
Progression is linear both ways (i.e. no hesitation at start or end of travel) but just appears more sluggish

My car was also built April 07 but I can't say I've noticed any of the above in my first 1,000 miles.
One thing I wonder though, is there any difference in sport mode?

That's a very interesting point - were I not about to visit the pub, I'd rush home and check!

No Difference under the above conditions with regard to the sport button.hanbury wrote:My car was also built April 07 but I can't say I've noticed any of the above in my first 1,000 miles.

Although i have noticed that if you drive the car hard and change up on the rev limiter it hesitates as you hit the gas in the next gear (regardless of the sport button being on or off) but when the ESP is off it does not do it.
So i now drive most of the time with the ESP off.

Probably find it is not a misfire but the ESP raining in the power, mine does it especially under hard acceleration from first to second, and sometimes third....
RE: Re: RE: Is any ones car a little hesitant at constant re
I think a software download is available to stop this, contact AudiCustomer services.
RE: Re: RE: Is any ones car a little hesitant at constant re
Ill give customer services a ring, I guess ill have to give them a chassis number to see if any tech updates apply. I have to say the revs not going back to idle straight away is getting on my tits. Wasnt there a recal or tech update for throttle body settings or something? Anyone know anything?

As the gus have said there is a ECU update as it was applied to my car. The result was a smoother power delivery.
I don't know what its called, but a phone call to CS should put you right.
Also agree with the ESP killing the power when giving it beans and like most I turn it off too, when I'm driving in that way.

Right, just got some info from the "Horses mouth" so to speak, There were some cars coming in with , hesitation, hanging on to revs ect, and going into "limp Mod". There is an ecu flash for them and most dealerships have either recalled or advised customers of this, best check yours with your suppling dealer
Mine does not need this re-flash aparentlly

RE: Re: RE: Is any ones car a little hesitant at constant re
Nice one, thanks for that. So does your car return to idle quite quickly?
RE: Re: RE: Is any ones car a little hesitant at constant re
Just spoke to customer services and there is no ecu reflash being listed. Have you got a dealer name that knows of this?
