RS4 B5 tuning....mileage too high?

Post by >RS4< » Mon May 21, 2007 1:43 pm

Guys as stated i am wondering if i should tune my immaculate RS4 any further.

It has done 68k miles now and i'd like to take it to 500/530 HP

Should i still do this or sell this one and look for an RS4 with lower mileage?

thoughts appreciated :D

My take on this would be that if the car has any weakness this will expose it. If you are planning on keeping the car for any length of time then chances are if there is any weakness you'll see it anyway. The "youngest" B5's are now 5+ years old so i'm not convinced by the low mileage, read standing around, argument either.

In your situation i would upgrade your car rather than try and find something "better".

Personally i'd stick with what you've got. At least you know your car and how you have looked after it.

You know your car and I would assume so does your tuner. Personally I'd keep the car and take it on from where you are now. The engines are quite strong and at 68,000 miles I'd say it is a mere youngster. Mine has just done 100,000 and there are otehrs here with 160,000+.

That's my opinion...I'm sure you'll receive many more and some will disagree!

Mine had just under 63k in stock trim on it when I bought it - it now has just over 63k on it with 471bhp[dyno] ...and feels very 'nice'

Mine was standard until 68k miles, then modded. Has caused no problems what so ever. I believe Tomson did his with 150K on it...

definately stick with the car you have and go for it, 68k is nothing and you are clearly happy with your car so why go through the trauma of having to find another . good luck

I would like to get my girlfriends remapped up to 420 bhp, ours has 98k miles on it now. As memtioned already, Audi intended to launch the B5 with 450 bhp but decided it was too excessive so actually reduced it to 380 bhp for longetivity, so give it a go.

F.A.O OLLY any news regarding the disc from Donnington and the Ring please?

thanks
