Some may argue its cause thats what everyone uses and they dont know any better... well if it aint broke dont fit it. I love the F1's - relatively quiet, good wear and great in the wet.
Have to agree.....can't fault them.

16,000 miles on my fronts now and that includes 1 x Vmax and 1 x Croft. Still around 2.5mm tread left...

Mine came with brand new P-Zeros. Tramlined slightly when new, got much worse as they wore out. Ride quality okay.
Next had to settle for the Dunlops (couldn't get hold of the Goodyears). They were excellent. Much more steering feel, improved ride quality, wore very well too.
Now I am running the Goodyears. First impressions are that they are like the P-Zeros minus the tramlining. Steering is less informative, especially straight ahead, and ride quality is worse.
Couldn't fault grip levels on any.

I havent seen any mention of Avon ZZ3's... I have used them on the Urs4, S3 and cabrio and normally get 30k miles from a set.
Had to change 1 today as a result of a puncture that wouldnt seal.. it cost 105 quid inc vat and fitting.

Had a few
Pirelli 6000's - shocking, scared the cr@p out of me at times, any difference in tyre pressure from what they should be and they are useless, poor steering feedback, poor "loading" on intial turn in, general good-ish on slide feedback and quite progressive when under under/over steer conditions.
very weak sidewalls, gave up on them after three bubbles in one season from very minor potholes

GY F1 GSD3's - awesome in the dry, much more confident in cornering and generally very good feedback before they give up grip, wasn't too sure about them in the wet, found that the colder they were the worse they were by a long way, much more so than any other tyre I have had. they appear to have a softer compound so can't vouch for their longevity as I sold them with the car with around 10,000 spirited miles on them, plenty of tread left on them would estimate at least 75% from new.

Don't care that much about how long they last as it just takes one pothole and a sidewall bubble and thats your milage out the window!

we have Dunlop 9000 Sp on the front and Avon on the rear!!! WHY do people mix tyres up? I had the Ur S4 and that arrived with Continental on the front and Avon on the rear. The conties lasted 5 minutes compared to the Avons.

if you dont have to worry about the cost of replacement tyres every few thousand miles and can afford to use Michelin Pilot Sport or these other high performance tyres then for those of us who do have to plan a tighter financial out going may I suggest Avon ZZ3 is a good tyre for less than 100 quid a corner.

That time has come again for me. I've got PS2's and I think they have been absolutely brilliant on the RS4. So good that I'm switching to them from the OEM specified Pirellis (which I absolutely hate), on my Maranello. What I found with the Pirellis is that once 2-3mm have worn off, they lose most of their performance in almost every area. They also go hard quickly, which makes for a crashy ride, with extreme and very unpleasant tramlining. The PS2's have remained high performance right down to the legal limit. However, my local and respected tyre supplier has highly recommended the new Vredestein Sessantas. Check out:

Has anyone got experience of them? They certainly look the part.
