Yes they do ... but a drill isn't required; just a small flat-blade screwdriver poked through each hole pushes the plugs out ...

I tried, mine where ROCK solid!!!!!

Even with a drill it was hard work!!! must remember and not leave them so long next time!

Mine have been rock solid plugs too ... but a judicious "twist" action with the flat-blade penetrates the plug and allows a push-through ... i guess regular maintenance is the answer.

Viper; maybe you need to get down the gym more often and pump some iron ...

All depends on driving ... since I only got 3k out my pads, so that would not work for me!!!

@S4tan, yeah, I hear what your saying ... I was just trying to push them as opposed to geting purchase and breaking its seat as such ...

Also, after hearing what David's said about the fact they are cast and not drilled, I am thinking drilling is not a good idea, as its going to hit the sides and maybe cause problems later ...

For sure ... i wouldn't put a drill anywhere near my discs (but that's because i am seriously cack-handed with power-tools! )

I use a low speed battery drill and "blunted" drill bit. Have to attack the discs from both sides though - Don't think you can drill through.

I suppose the easiest way would be to use a flexible drill/drive shaft?

You definitely CAN with the B7 RS4 discs - the holes in both discs are aligned, so you only have to do it from one side; place small flat-blade tip in hole on dust plug, twist and push through ... repeat all the way round the disc until bored ... (forgive the pun) ... you can feel the blade go through and exit on the other disc ... a big pile of dust will appear on the floor as you go round the disc ...

Well, they definitely line up on the B7 RS4 discs that i've got .... and are cleared easily from one side .... maybe i'm just lucky?

That is enough to make me choose them over RS6+ ones on its own.

Floating is also better than solid too.

My initial thinking was to go RS4 B7 disks first, because no moficiation needed and it was cheaper. My thoughts where, when those discs come to the end of their life, I can move to RS6+ if needed, but, to be honest, I recon I will get another set of B7's, as they do the job, WELL!! and I used to go through discs like hot dinners, so, if they can hold up to my driving, they are good!

So maintenance-wise the B7 discs are the ones to go for. On e-bay they're £475 for the fronts, compared to £415 for the RS6 so not a lot in it really. As you say David, I think that having the discs alligned makes it a simpler choice. Cheers guys
