RE: Manual or Tiptronic?
Manual - much as I really enjoyed having the paddles when I had an RS6 for a day, I don't think I'd enjoy it long term. It's fun going straight from 3rd to 6th or even 1st to 6th.
Gone: 2006 B7 RS4 Avant (Phantom Black)

..a tactic that I use regularly, especially down m/way sliproads with Nigel Mansell wannabees in white vans or Golf TDi's in pursuit, when I can't be bothered to break speed limits once on the m/wayPetrolDave wrote: or even 1st to 6th.

All depends on your driving surely - if I was stuck in traffic everyday commuting I'd kill for a tip, but for ultimate control & enjoyment, it's gotta be manual for me.
Mine is Tip and whilst I do sometimes miss the manual shift you can use the paddles to godd effect. I have had some track use and I was dubious but it is OK.
Every time I sit in traffic I'm glad I have the tip - If I want to have a little play then a quick flick of the left paddle puts a smile on my face

Manual for me too - the Tiptronic is the ONLY thing that makes me hesitate about an RS6 (DRC can be sorted)...but I'm sure I could live with it...
You thinking of moving on Mark?
