Whats the recommended change interval - is it 80k?
My car service history shows that belt was changed around this milleage (well it has the tick in the relevant box) - over 3 years ago
I enquired at the Audi dealer who did the work to confirm, alas the claim the computer system was changed so they don't have the records anymore.
Anyway the car has now done 114k; is it good for 160k? or is there an age related time factor also?

S4 - Silver 2000
I'm pretty sure it's 80,000 miles - or five years if earlier. When I had my S4, the dealership I bought it from claimed the cambelt should be changed at 115,000 miles!

I think this has been discussed before and yes it is 80k or 5 years but the RS4 is 40k or 5 years, so does this indicate that those of us who have remapped / tuned our cars look to changing it more often

Mine just done at 65k. Any nutter not bothered to change theirs ....just wondered how far the belts would go before they got bored of turning the cams and 'stuff'.
Surely there is somebody who has clocked up over 100k.....

RE: Re: RE: cambelt change
By the looks of it the only differance to my list is they chose not to do the water pump / thermostat Etc. Bit of a shame but there you go.

RE: Re: RE: cambelt change
Thanks, some peace of mind knowing a good few new parts were thrown at it!
It is a shame with the water pump, I would have done it given the option/realising at the time, but hopefully given the miles (28K at the time) it will be ok. Thermostats I have found previosuly are unreliable buggers and not so sure a new one is any better than a working exisitng one (ie I reckon either could fail).
