Ive never had a problem with my stock brakes,


I should try and get some brake fade just for the experience

Well they need to be pushed - so drive it like you stole it .... b/fade wont be far behind........
Its like you have brakes .... then you dont ...... but its when you dont have them - you need them - oooooh <beep> ... moments -
if yr aware of your limits, been over that point ... you will drive within b/capability afterwards ... until you get them swapped out for proper stuff....
I never found stock s4 brakes work too well over 120mph .... there like a chocolate fireguard ....

Getting back to the original list, I would say it's going to be more like...

Get the car sorted in stock form first.

- Change the oil, oil filter and air filter,
- check gearbox oil, rear diff oil and seals, brake pads, shocks, wheel bearings, etc.
- Get the health check and re-map including fitting the uprated engine protection parts, Samco tbb, 710N DVs, etc
- check the cam cover gaskets for leaks and replace where needed.
- Get the front suspension arms and tie rod ends checked and replaced where needed (transforms a standard car).


You then have move on to the upgrades.

From experience, (and I wish I had done it first), FIT A BOOST GAUGE. otherwise you are unaware of the symptoms of impending doom until it is too late.

Are the RS6/RS4 brakes the ones to go for, i have seen some Brembo Grand Turismo advertised?

How much for the uprated brake kits then? Seems to be one of the mods that should be done sooner rather than later after reading this thread

£1250 from MRC

I believe it to be the cheapest. I just bought a set last week.

RS4 B7 Discs

RS6 Calipers

RS4 B7 Pads

They work well and stop your car like it should stop.

They are made by Brembo for Audi.

Everywhere else, includign Audi they will set you back £1500 to £1900 in the most extreme places.

Having dont most mods my order would be as follows:

1) Health check + DTS & Short Shifter (Make the car feel 5 years younger)
2) Better downpipes/cats (eg: RS4 downpipes w/ 200 cell cats)
3) Remap (only after the downpipes/cats are done to take advantage of this - assuming you have a custom map that is)
4) ARB's - Make the car feel so nicely planted on the twisty stuff - a REAL REAL MUST
5) A nice set of light weight 18" wheels
6) Brakes
7) Suspension... if I were to do it again I would probably get RS4 suspension and if possible the gmbh RS4 kit
Stage 3...

Or save a few extra months before purchase and just buy an RS4... save a hell of a lot of money in the long run & you will see better returns on sale.
