Seriously Suffed up - Help needed !!

Post by wolf02 » Sun Apr 08, 2007 6:25 pm

Ive really messed up this time.

Was driving along and the oil low light came on, so pulled over at a garage, waited about 15 mins and checked it.
The oil level was off the bottom of the dipstick !!
So bought a top up from the garage and added it.
Took 2ltrs to get it back to the bottom of normal range.

A week later the engine warning light has come on.
So i check the oil and its WAY over the maximum !!
When I topped up it must not have been fully drained back to the sump so its now seriously over full.

Problem is ive been driving round like it for over a week.
What kind of damage is likely to have occured and what if anything can I do to fix it, other than taking it to audi and paying a fortune !!

You may have damaged the cats, do you know anyone in the area with a vag-com to check the fault code?

If the oil is overfull to dangerous levels then it should come out the pressure release valves, which means you'll be trailing smoke all the time. I would drain some off, check fault codes and hope and prey.
