The E46 got similar press for being over the top IIRC. It will be interesting to see if the new one gets to the top of the tree, and if it stays there for 5 years + it will be a worthy M3.

LOL great quotes! Personally having had 3 different M3 marks myself over the years they are simply loosing their charm and personality fast IMHO. To many made and targeted at a certain type of individual. I actually sold my last convertible within 3 weeks of owning it as I hated how it made me feel when driving, Bloody nasty !!

The new styling is awful, just wrong a big mix bag of other peoples designs apart from at last getting the light clusters at the rear right. BMW just try to hard to attempt challenge and generate something special as an RS 4/6 No competition, and never will be.

My freind is on the waiting list for one! He loves my RS4 Avant b7, he sure is going to be disappointed when he sees what they have done to the M3, looks and interior wise it just doesnt come any where near that of Audis. (maybe its the colouror maybe its me not being a BM fan!
Driving it could well be different though!

Consider it done !! in fact it all kicked off last night after reading and posting this .. he then suggested that M3 build quality and desirability was much higher than audi and for that reason they manufacture 50 thousand of the poisonous little CL*TS as opposed to our limited stock 4-500 !! He so pig headed and ignorant he cant understand the concept of exclusitivity and higher residuals and as for build quality ???. I replied that if Audi made the same amount RS 4's as m3's then BMW wouldnt sell any, it would slump in value and destroy the brand as its a better all round car IMO ! Audi is actually doing beamer a favour GRRR Iam all fired up now let me out on the motor way !!!

Well lookslike BMW are gonna go downhill

A mate just told me that a bmw 335i (the twin turbo one) raced against his mates E46 M3 which is modified to 370 brake. The 335i (306 hp_ was neck and neck up to a 100mph (private road of course)

I think the 335i will be a better car than the M3. purely because of the turbo chargers.
