Think you will find it's a lifed item according to Audi. Have a chat with Ben from Sports Tech tomorrow at Croft - he always gives excellent advice.

I had mine replaced at the last major service. By definition if it's filtering stuff, it's getting clagged up - for such a small cost it's a large risk eliminated.
