Maintenance package
Maintenance package
Hi
Who has gone for the maintenance package and what is the monthly cost? Is it worth the money?
Thanks

Re: Maintenance package
I am seriously thinking of doing this - with the tyre option it works out for me at £57 a month. I'm treating it as more of a savings plan, I know I'm paying that a month but at least I won't have any major financial worries about taking it in for a service - as I said, it's more of a savings plan.n5tew wrote:Hi

Is there a limit on this? Just wondering as I was thinking what is to stop someone getting a fully comp maintenance package and doing lots of track days, hence needing tyres and brakes replaced every few weeks.
If there is a reasonably high limit of "claims", then £57 per month is actually quite cheap if it includes tyres, servicing, parts and labour.

I have had a quote today of around £74 per month inc VAT (£885 for the year) for the all in maintenance package based on 12K per annum. At first I thought this was expensive but, given that, from what others are saying, I will probably need a new set of tyres and a service in this timeframe as a minimum (total of which is likely to be in excess of £1,100 or even £1,200) it begins to sound like good value for money. Plus it obviously makes sense as a way to spread the costs.
Interestingly though this quote equates to 7.4p per mile but after 12,000 the costs are actually less at 4.4p per mile for the next 1,200 miles and 6.6p per mile for everything above that?!
This is not something I have done before but I would have expected the costs for exceeding the set mileage to be punitive but the reverse seems to be true. Makes me wonder if it wouldn't be cheaper to set the mileage a lot lower.
I'd be very interested to hear what others have been quoted (I think I have seen some lower suggestions elsewhere but I am wondering if they include VAT). My quote hasn't come from Audi but from the broker I am using to purchase the car as the Audi dealer told me they couldn't give me a price, I would have to go to the broker.

Graham - I'm assuming yours is direct with Audi? Mine is through my broker (BoS) and the agreement would be with them too but yours is a fair bit cheaper - even if you did an extra 3K in the year. The dealer my car is coming from told me I had to go to the broker for a quote but I can't believe I can be excluded from using Audi so I may try customer services and see if they will 'quote me happy'.
Rgeardless though, they all sound like a bargain - especially the £17.99!

I may have been prudent on my estimates and taken worst case scenario as the FCM is an insurance policy of sorts.
Pads - someone here had been quoted £400 to replace front pads hence £800 for full set
Discs - were your discs judged to be faulty then? I have heard RS4s can be hard on their front discs. I do not track but thought they need one replacement after 18k miles / 3 years. Maybe not.

What experience do people have of claiming against their maintenance package so far? I’m particularly interested in how long tyres are lasting and whether anyone has had trouble getting them replaced. Also do you have any choice when it comes to renewal or do you have to go with the same tyres as originally fitted or do you just get what you’re given?
I have had two similar quotes for 12,000 miles pa (one from Audi dealer at £78 per month and one from broker I’m using to buy at £74 per month). These sound like reasonably good value but I know others have had considerably cheaper quotes and I would be interested to know where these came from – is it possible that one Audi dealer will give a better quote than another?
I also have a quote from Audi for the maintenance and service only which came out at £50 per month but it would seem to me that the value is in the tyre bit.
I'd be grateful for any input.
