I've had this software on my laptop for about 18 months now and it has been useful.
I've done the simple things like reprogrammed the alarm system so that all the doors lock when you start driving, the electric windows stay on for a few mins after you take the key out even if you've opened the doors, the key fob unlocks in two stages - one press to open the drivers door, two presses to unlock all doors.
I originally got it so I could reset the xenon headlamp system after ajusting the lights for trips to the continent (my local dealer wanted to charge half an hours labour each time I wanted to travel )
Anyway, I got the kit in the days of serial port cables - I believe you can now get it for USB so count me in for a cable upgrade if you manage to get a group discount.

C5 RS6 MTM Stage 1- Gone, missed, but not as much as the RS4
B8 S4 MTM Stage 1 (410hp, 380 ft lb) - Gone and missed
C7 A6 Allroad BiTDI MTM (380hp, 575 ft lb, YES 575 ft lb!) - Current family wagon: 0-60 in 4.9 sec and nearly 50 mpg at a steady motorway chug. That's having your cake and eating it!

A few of the S2 guys have been buying their VAG-COM cables in Canada due to costs in the UK. If the prices are competitive there may be several other buyers available on the S2 forums too. Post some prices and we may be able to add a few more names to the list.
