I may be a little late in adding to this but I have a REVO remap from WRC Technologies and it has removed the limiter, extended the power band through to 7250rpm whereas before it used to fade out at around 6750rpm and gives me a lot more torque through the first 2000rpm when the toprque from my s/s full system kicks in. Throttle response is also more agressive as it was set at 1 on OEM map, now 3 (max 9). It has transformed the car and I am pleased with it, even makes the exhaust pop and burble with a slightly deeper tone with different fuelling map.

Have had the remap since middle of January and no problems. Have also had the car VAG-COM'ed twice since with fitting of bluetooth module and no faults have been reported so all is well.
