I'm on my second set of Porche disks. The only ones needed relacing due to wear, not cracking, and I never had any MOT issues because of the cracking.

With the Posche 993tt setup do you get a lip on the edge of the disk as they wear (as you do on many) or do they wear right to the edge and really need measuring to identify wear?

If so anyone know the thicknesses for new and the wear limit please?

Thanks Corey. I take it they wear right to the edge then?

Scrap the last question. On closer inspection I can answer myself there is a very fine lip starting to appear, but you would need a micronmeter to measure it, so no where near 2mm of wear. As I see from some of the supplier links in this thread disks are about £140 each that's good news!

surely Porsche discs are actually Brembo discs? If so and if you are buying them to use with a bell/hat of Audi stud pattern, then buying Porsche parts is going to cost you more than buying discs of the same diameter and thickness from a non porsche dealer....no?

I have Porsche 4 pot monoblocks with "OEM" pads, they are both made by Brembo,
stick a porsche part number on something and the price goes up.

Let us know if you find out the Brembo part number for the disks and pads then.

PS. Car went through MOT no probs.

these prices are dead cheap compared to Audi Rs4 brakes, we had ours changed before we accepted the car so we didnt pay for them but to do front and rear discs and pads will set you back almost a GRAND!!!!!

125 quid is chicken feed... bet it would be more to go to Porsche and buy them!!
