The most understeer I've seen recently was on an Enzo :bigblink:
B8 A4 Avant quattro
Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird
Suzuki GSXR1000 (Track bike)
B6 S4 (AMD Stage 3) - GONE
8N TT (APR/AMD/MTM) - GONE

Some strange comments which don't seem to describe a standard S4, cack certainly doesn't. I've got a 997 and a 53 S4 avant and there isn't much to chose between them on understeer. Go in with no throttle - expect understeer - in both! My S4 lacked a little life in the steering until I had the rear camber reset to factory tolerances, or perhaps there was a unusaual tyre selection on your S4? Shame you didn't get on with it. How does the ML build standard compare with AUdi; MB have had a bit of a slagging in recent years in the motoring press?

am really liking the ml as whichever second car i have its primary function is to cart stuff about ( family and friends etc)...its big without being too big ( range rover, Q7 etc) and doest quite hit the scally levels of the range rover sport ( each to their own)...i really fancied a sporty number which is why i went for the s4...had an rs6 which whilst great are v.dear to run as most people will testify..also, they are getting on a bit.

anyway, think i have found the perfect compromise, and am trying to source the brabus d6 kit for it to give it the edge it needs...

should do an excellent job until the new rs6 comes out!

rs4 rear anti roll bar fitted by the previous owner. dread to think what it drove like before.

ml has more room.

997 turbo drives real nice though.

i was making a point, if you dont like it say so, save your sarcasm for your mrs.

the car was cack.
The car isn't cack, just not what you wanted.

Why think it was going to have the space of an RS6 when it is a smaller car?

As said, many factors could have changed the understeer, some good gripo tyres for a start. The OEM Conti's are poor and has been well catalogued, Goodyear F1's plus the RS4 DRC ARB would have sorted it out and if not, putting the RS4 front brake set up on to reduce unsprung weight at front.

Gearing is not perfect but if you were that bothered get a Tiptronic. Just a shame you gave up on it so easily.

Hope you are happy with your ML choice being that you came from an X5, I would have thought a RRS SuperV8 would be the only way to meet your requirements.
