sorry guys but am i theonly one hearing alarm bells ringing??? if the car is overdue a cambelt replacement what kind of condition is the car really in?Surley anyone who cares about their car gets it done BEFORE its due replacement just incase.IMO walk away, there have got to be better looked after cars out there which deserve you money more..

Going back to the original posting - it doesn't say how "overdue" the service and belt change is. It might only be be a couple of hundred miles over. It might be that the previous owner had a poor stealership which advised an 80,000 mile interval instead of a 40,000 mile one. Happened to me when I bought mine at 44,000 miles. Car was very well looked after - other than the the overdue cam belt.

Or the owner has rung asking when its due and got one of the clueless birds in service reception,i was told 40k 60k and 80k when i was doing my homework on these babys, these cars are rare at most dealers and there knowledge of them not always 100%

On my S4, I was told 115k miles and the RS4 at 80k miles. So it's easy to see how a cambelt change could be missed. Obviously ok...unless it snaps, but then should be claimable under negligence?
