is it the MAF?

Post by s4seeker » Tue Mar 27, 2007 9:01 am

Everyone
Have gone through most of this area of the forum to try to answer this but still not sure.
When the car is warm and then is sitting idling the revs tend to dip and rise very slightly - not very much but enough to notice it.
Anyone any ideas?
Can i test the maf in any way without VAGCOM?
Or should i replace it to be safe?
What do you all think?
Going to get oil changed this week so could get a MAF while it is in.
Any ideas would be great
thanks
Paul

I think a bit more information is required buddy
How about mileage / servicing / mods to the car /

At this stage difficult to be able to form an opinion although the price of a replacement MAF is relatively inexpensive

Noticed this on Ebay

Item now sold but I had a conversation with the guy there who assured me this was an original / unused part

I cant vouch for him nor can I confirm this but the price as you will see is fairly cheap

hope that helps so far

Don't all cars revs dip and rise slightly when idling? As load changes on the alternator the ecu has to adjust the idle.

I wouldn't say its a MAF type issue.

Where abouts are you? If local, you could test with my MAF if you like...
