Misano Red
Is this a high risk colour for future residuals?
Re: Misano Red

In the last 3 weeks a certain Audi dealer has dropped the price of a red RS4 saloon by exactly £3k!!!!
It was up at 48900, then they dropped it to 46900, now it's 45900. Sensible spec, 1 year old with 15k miles. There does seem to be more red ones on the audi network than any other color.

Are audi allowed to sell the audi experience cars back to jo public. I thought given the harsh treatment they received, they don't allow them to be sold on.simple1 wrote:Maybe cos all the Audi Driving Experience cars were red..........and all were changed for black ones at the begining of the year

You can bet you life they will all be snapped up by the dealer network. 4 new tyres and a valet, then marketed as low milage ex Audi managers cars!
This happened with the M3 CSL, i nearly bought an 18 month old car with 1500miles on from a BMW dealer.
The dealer told me it was an ex BMW management car, i enquired about the history of the car on the CSL form and was e mailed a photo of it with all the 'driving experience' decals on at Rockingham
The dealer responed by saying it was news to him and wanted a copy of the photo

No adverse impact with Misano on residuals; its a fantastic colour.
My only negative experience with Audi Misano is road rash on the front bumper, it showed quite badly when my car was only about 10 months old as the small stone chips showed as black marks. Not sure if this was primer or bumper plastic that was exposed, but it was quite noticeable.
To be fair though, I did a lot of motorway mileage in that time so it was probably not an average use of the car by any means
Good choice in my opinion, anyway, Black cars are too common

Have to agree with the "road rash". I too did a few motorway miles and the front was totally speccled with white dots.SteveH wrote:No adverse impact with Misano on residuals; its a fantastic colour.

I wonder if they changed primer colour? Its strange that mine were black!? It was on a 54 plate 225TTthe front was totally speccled with white dots.
Saying that, I've had a Moro Blue Audi that had a paint defect on the drivers side; the paint started peeling off the wing mirror after only a few months of ownership and the paint underneath was Misano Red in pristine condition, I owned the car from new so it was either the factory or the dealer that fitted a poorly prepped re-sprayed mirror the cheaky blighters, off course the dealer blamed the factory!
Sorry, wandering off-topic there, misano's great, especially with mildly tinted windows.

Is it good for resale? No
Internet forums are full of people saying how lovely viper green GT3s and white cars are etc but do they actually put their money where their mouth is? Personally I doubt it.
I have asked two dealers about colours and they both said the same thing, their ex-demos would only by daytona, phantom or mugello plus the odd sprint - other colours are too hard to shift.
Like most of Londoners I park on the street and would not buy anything lairy or bright for that reason. Luckily I much prefer the stealth look on fast Audis anyway so went phantom with optics and I love it!
that said if I had a garage and really liked Misano, a £3k additional depreciation hit would not worry me on a £50k car. I am buying it for me not the next owner and intend to keep it for 3 years.
