Ah yes. The season is almost upon us :D

I got a little carried away last week when the temperature went up and thought about booking a trip in next month to Devon :) Then this week came along

Steve where abouts do you go in Devon? I was last there 2 years ago down Woolacombe and Saunton Sands. Since then I went Portugal (Sargres) and then last year Sri Lanka. I'm still a novice so some of the waves in Portugal and Sri Lanka were a little too daunting!

But this year its back to Devon as my trip abroad will not be for surfing but swimming with Orcas :D

Oh, and Steve, check out a mexican restaurant in Barnstaple called Jalapenos - absolutely amazing food

Also, as I hate driving, my toy to play with - a Honda CBR F Sport

Mainly all things woolacombe, croyde , saunton, puts etc...

I cheat a little in so far as I use a white water canoe, so I'll be wearing my dry-cag and aim to be bone dry throughout the weekend. But at least with paddles I can steer my way around other people and cathc three time more waves!! Great fun.

Well just seen the video (aint got access to funky stuff on work computer  ) I've seen it before and all I have to say is what I said when I first watched it... F*CK ME  I think its from either Billabong Odysey or Riding Giants documentary.

That'll be me surfing the wave soon ;)

Noticed something this time though - the video didn't show if he survived the fall :?

PS Steve you cheating wimp :P - put on a wet suit, grab a board and jump in the water. You'll love it mate

PPS David7M the above applies to you too :)

LOL... I do surf as well, but admittedly normally on a body board, have a few surfers in our usual clan. A real photo from last year here

For a few years we used to do an annual surf trip to Rhossili in January, now thats cold! I will always remember when I had to bail out my boat in a storm, the surf was superb, but my boat literally blew away off the top of the wave and when I hit the water my body froze instantly and I could'nt move my legs because of the shock of the water temperature, thank god one of my buddies was nearby to tow me in. Never been back since surprisngly as that one was a little too close for comfort, great laugh though.

Going down on 04 April for a long easter weekend, staying in a place just down from the car park on the way into croyde. Usually get a few good days surf around this time of year.
Have a look at some of the photographs on this link of croyde and surrounding beaches,... fantastic images from sunsetsurfer. :D
