Right if it was indeed owned by a guy in Newbury

His name was Steve Henry or Hendry and runs a automotive supply company called Auto spares or soemthing

MAybe a bit of work with directory enquires or the internet may reap your reward

I have a few worries that if the exhaust has been modified then put back to normal it may have an over fuelling problem at high rpm. Basically the rema would have worked for the new exhaust but then you cannot just take the exhauust off without other effects

My sugestion wuoold be take it to a reputable dealer, suh as AmD who can put it on the rolloing road and at least check it is not going to break

I hope this helps

That's funny... that nice salesman at the dealership insisted it had one careful lady owner... And I wondered why it had wipers on the side windows...
Still, the demolition derby destruction combination of Mrs Mac's driving (i bought it as 'her' car) and my huge dribbling labrador (on second thoughts, I guess it's technically HIS car...) means that its past ownership woes won't make a blind bit of difference after about two weeks!
By the way your mate doesn't know the meaning of sideways if he hasn't experienced my 2.8 capri track car....

This was the first RS4 we fitted with Milltek down pipes/cats and system with the MTM chip to take the power to 458bhp. We did this for Stephen Henry on the 29-3-01 when it had 2500miles. The car was then bought back to use on the 31-7-02 by Martins Audi for a standard exhaust to be fitted because the person buying it said it was to loud.
This was an early Milltek system, which was a lot louder than the later systems. Should you require any further information please call me on 01444 451542 Kim Collins Quattro Sports.

"too loud" . Is there such a thing?? Is it still possible to get yr hands on one of these earlier , louder exhausts? I have sportec but want louder- much louder. That link on another thread with the Digitec RS4 sounds fantastic.

Thanks for all your help guys. I had a long chat to Kim @ Quattrosports yesterday (very knowledgable and patient - even for a mechanical neanderthal like me) and am now clear about the car. I think he's convinced me to put back the noisy exhaust. I can't go all soft and southern and fit a later quieter one, can I? Mrs Mac will just have to put up with it. And the labrador will just have to cover his ears... He also gave me a good run through on brakes and suspensions.... an expensive man to talk to...!
Just a word of warning to Michael though - if you do any trackdays be aware that most racetracks are very sticky about decibels nowadays - something I have learned the hard way on more than one occasion...

Blimey, didn't know I was letting myself in for an exam...! I'm going to go down and see him cos we aren't sure what suspension set up it now has (or brakes), so will report back...
Meanwhile, I like the look of those red porsche calipers, presumably the same as the ones on my GT2 - they are unbelievably effective on that car - any ideas or experience of them on RS4s?

Hi Gord,
i have the MoVit system on my RS4 all done by Kim at QST, and i can say that they are superb on the road, if you intend to track the car then be warned, its a heavy car and the Brakes will tak a hard battering, but for Road use no problems at all.
Cheers
