Dom,

Now I get what the silver stiching option refers to. Nice choice. Personnaly I think the Recaros are a safer option for bigger torso people. Especially as they have reshaped the new Recaros from the B5 to offer more restraint at the shoulder area. I'm a skinny runt and have always moaned how older German car seats seem to be sized (width wise) for broader folks.

Re the Ipod M3/SD card option. I haven't got a clue how this is all going to materialise. I have a Phat box MP3 player at the moment in my B5. I won't ever go back to 6 CDs but I don't have an Ipod. So I'm going to have to do some research to establish how this is all going to work out.

I'll look into craigyb's posts.

cheers.

Plenty of time to sell my B5 anyone interested?
You might be pleasantly suprised

I ordered mine on 16th Feb (although gave indication of final spec a week earlier) and heard to day that the build is nearly finished

Looks like the total lead time could be around two months. They're obviously keen to finish production and move on!

Hi all, new here but just ordered my RS4 Avant (changing from 997 C4S) and can't wait! Previously owned B5RS4 and RS6 and loved them. Can't wait to be back in a fast audi! Just phoned up my dealer to tell them about the tech pack reduction and they said they were due to phone me today... Hmmmm. Anyway all good now so cheers guys.
Went for Black and black - non buckets, tech pack, sun roof, TV, heated rears, phone, auto-dim, privacy glass and cool box!

Due to take delivery late May...

Congratulations Thorny - you must have got just about the last one in the country...

Did you consider Sports Suspension Plus? I went for it after trying both, and I'm sure the ride is no firmer than my B6 S4

Not a list option, but if you fancy memory on drivers seat and side mirrors (which also adds auto dim on sides) then I can tell you how to put it through

Also, remember you can have the seats all black or with silver/grey piping

Hi

I'm new too but wanted to say thanks for the tip off on the tech pack pricing - I ordered mine early Feb with ETA of late April. Managed to get the discount agreed yesterday though so now looking for something to spend the extra grand on!

Maybe it's too late to ask but, as I've also gone for the 'non-buckets', driver's seat and side mirror memory and auto dipping sounds v. worthwhile. If you're happy to share how to go about it I may well give it a try.

Cheers

Sure thing (although you may well be a bit on the late side...) It needs to go through as follows, and believe me, it took a while to sort!

SPECIAL ORDER FACTORY OPTION
Drivers Seat with Memory 3L4
Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror PU9
Door Mirrors Heated - Auto Dimming - With Memory in Standard RS4 Design 6XM

Very important to stress the Standard RS4 Design part otherwise you would get the folding mirrors from the S4

All up a reasonable £600 - that's £400 on top of the basic price for the auto-dim. I checked and light & rain are still included

I've got a contact name in product marketing for this one. If anyone needs it, PM me

Thanks for that Dom, I didn't try the Sports suspension as the one I drove felt quite firm and didn't have it and he dealer advised against it... (I have also spent enough on options already!). Went for the black seats with silver piping as I thought the cabin would need a bit of a life being a black and black combination...

I was too late!

Apparently they have a start date for the build (although not 'til mid April) which means it's too late. Never mind I'm happy with the spec otherwise - I'll just have to find something else to spend it on.

Thansk again for the tip.
