Wife and kids cost more to run than any car, I can assure you of that!

Im with Virgin Money. I'm 35 with a 2001 B5 S4 with no mods. I have maximum no claims and I'm paying £500 fully comp, with a £250 excess. Good thing about Virgin is that if you can't afford to pay your premium in one go, they do not charge you interest to pay monthly.

Interesting Paula thanks for that. I chose to pay my insurance in one lump sum as the interest was silly with Greenlight.

You can beat most Elephant renewals by getting them to match the new business quote too. Oh for such a low premium.

I think mine was about £650 last summer with Admiral. Was 26, 7yr NCB (protected), 0 points, Uprated brakes and miltek exhaust declared. Kept in a garage overnight, and my girlfriend on the policy as well (she was only 24 at the time). Was with Greenlight the year before and they were good.

1999 S4 with Miltek Dual Catback... no other mods. Mileage limited to 5000, car in driveway (second car) mirrored 9+ years NCB. No points ever.... Oh and I'm 37.
To be honest I fee robbed.... 510 quid without the Milltek! Oh and I'm in Sheffield which 'Is a good area' (according to some companies) Ha Ha Ha...good so they can ream my ass for the premiums.

Oh and if I want to get a custom remap premium goes to 820...... however I've had quotes from others with pipe and remap at 670, so guess who will be changing insurers

I saw a £35 increase (bargained down from massive greater than 10% of the premium £50) for fitting H&R ARBs for the remaining 11 months of the policy through A-Plan, brakes and remap already declared.

 It's the admin charges that put the price up.

For sure, they keep telling me to do my mods in groups and declare them all at once.

Got the RS6 insured with Swinton through this http://www.moneysupermarket.com/motor/ I'm 28 with 5 years no claims bonus. No mods yet, only had the car a short time. I'm paying £727 with Swinton with a £300 excess, not bad for a 2003 reg
