FATs test for S2/RS2
FATs test for S2/RS2
Is the FATs test the same for the S2/RS2 as it is for the S4? (ie time taken from 4,200 to 6,500rpm in 3rd gear)
Has anyone done this? Have people compared their times? The MRC database has no entries.

RE: FATs test for S2/RS2
It wouldn't be any good for working out power but would be good for comparing to other S2's etc
How does your S2 feel compared to the S4? Speed, handling etc
Why did you get an S2??

RE: FATs test for S2/RS2
I agree.
The S2 is no slouch compared to the S4 (both as stock) with 230bhp/350nm on the ABY model. In fact, in 1st and 2nd gears it feels faster than the tuned S4
Handling is very wallowy in stock form (worse than the S4) but the addition of RS2 ARBs has smartened things up. Really needs some coilovers.
The stock brakes are even worse than stock S4, but that will soon be sorted with 996 calipers and S8 discs (on the front of course).
It's a different animal to the S4, and I like the coupe style.
Why did I get an S2? I dunno, it's an Audi S isn't it? I was looking for a Golf TDI at the time
Actually, I've always admired them since they were launched, but couldn't afford one at the time, and I thought if I don't do it now I never will (either the car or I will be too old...).
May be seen as a backwards step, but I love the retro look and feel - you never know, the next addition might be a 20v ur quattro...
Blimey Mark, we're off topic already, after only 2 posts...!

RE: FATs test for S2/RS2
I always loved the UR's but never did it. I went for a TVR when I should have gone Audi. At least the TVR is now gone and it's Audi all the way!
Performance testing should be in a gear between 2 speeds for a good comparison. I'll start a new post

RE: FATs test for S2/RS2
Yes please... if I bought another audi it would only be a golden oldie... as long as I had no further dealings with Audi UK. A short wheel base one would do nicely
