Sorry to ask

Post by RSVI » Sat Mar 10, 2007 2:09 pm

I know, do a search! !

I just want straight numbers and opinions on who to use to get my beast up to 500 bhp.

I'm lost with what i read, APS, AMD, REVO, PMT ;)

I would love to know who ever does the remap is going to do it with there heart, not there back pocket in mind.

Everyones post i read that's got 500+ says how much better the car is. I want to experience this but safely.

With prev cars of mine being fiddled with i did have a couple of extras (big end, melting a piston) and don't want this in the RS6 as i guess this kind of work would be crippling :(

Thanks

Well the only people I would trust is MRC Tuning ....I've tried one other company on your list and ended up with melted turbos.

Or read the link on peoples actual results on the car you have asked about. Could result in another 20hp and getting the 500hp you want. Up to you to choose.

I would speak to APS and MRC

I seem to remember a while back someone on here had better results on an RS6 with AMD rather than MRC. This was subjective because they had an 'issue' on the car ofter an MRC map that MRC weren't given the opportunity to fix but AMD then got the car running better.

I'll try and find the post (doing the search for you!)

If it were my money though I have to say I would probably go MRC.

Come and have a go in mine...

Done at APS.

Not being contentious in any way here, I applaud what MRC do and their recommendations speak for themselves. But, perhaps they are more established with S4/RS4 than RS6?

I'd be interested to know what the ratios are in terms of numbers worked on.

Either way, it's a two horse race.
RS4 B5. Where it all started.
RS6+ Never to be replaced.
Replaced by: 997 Turbo. Didn't like.
Replaced by RS6. I like(d).
Land Rover Defender. Not as nippy.
Back with C6 RS6
And again C7 RS6

Rather than just my usual "MRC  ", I would add that remapping an RS6 involves the remapping of both the ECU and the the TCU (Tiptronic Control Unit) and I know that MRC have not only experience, but have also done quite a lot of research on tuning the RS6, particularly the TCU.
