Usually you over inflate the tyres (42-45 psi ) and then take air out of them after the first run while their still hot to get back down to 43 ish. Your trying to stiffen the sidewall of the tyre up while maintaining the correct contact patch. Since it is the edges of the tyres that suffer on track days increase the tyre pressure slightly will reduce the edge scrub and allow the whole tyre to work....don't over do it and remember to check between sessions and to revert the tyre pressure to your normal settings once the tyres are cold after the event.

I dont wish to stand on anyones toes here BUT 2 great events have landed on the same weekend yet again!!

The International Historic Motorsport Show at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire is on from the 25-27th March....its about 40 minutes drive away.(www.historicmotorsportshow.com/showcontent.asp)

I was wondering if anyone fancies a quick trip over to have a wee look during Saturday? There are 2 events, one in the morning and 1 in the afternoon, I thought it would be a great opportunity to hit 2 "birds" with 1 stone.Michelle Mouton and The "Stig" Blomqvist will be there driving S1 quattros at full tilt.

Just thought others maybe interested in going??

and can we park on the infield??
donny web site doesnt really say.(cant find it anyway)
Sessions are usually 9:30 onwards.

Infield - do you mean paddock ? if so, yes you should be able to as there is plenty of space, you just need to be concious of cars getting to the track and changing wheels etc.
by infield i meant into the center of the track through the tunnels/either via paddock or near dunlop bridge.
you get a good view of the craner curves from the infield
its a little while since i have been but you used to be able to drive around in the center of the track to see different angles of racing.
i will be with one of my little lads if i come so might need some supplies of sweets to keep him smiling!!!
