Just got my Ross Tech cable

Post by TopBear » Mon Feb 26, 2007 11:50 am

Received my (genuine) cable from the Ross Tech site, and downloaded the latest v6 software and got it all up and working in 10 mins, connecting first time to the car

Ran the autoscan funtion to pull all the 'known' stats from the car, and saved them off, and then cleared them down to get any consistent problems dealt with first.

The misfire on Cylinder 3 & 4 is still there so will prolly order up a couple of coil leads to see if that cures it.

Before spending real money, you may want to check the fuel trim values. ;)

OK so I ran the AutoScan function again on Sunday and got the following 'abbreviated' results back
VAG-COM Version: Release 607.3-UD

Sunday,04,March,2007,20:54:01

Chassis Type: 8D - Audi A4 B5
Scan: 01 02 03 08 15 16 17 25 35 37 45 55 56 57 67 75 76 77

2 Faults Found:
00850 - Control Output Active; Radio Amplifier
29-10 - Short to Ground - Intermittent
65535 - Internal Control Module Memory Error
00-00 - -

End --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Problem is I cant find any reference to the engine\cyclinder layout so I can swap 4 & 5's coilpacks (one at a time) with a 'good' cyclinder) to see if the CP was perhaps faulty.

So from the position of standing at the front bumper looking back to the bulkhead what is the order on each side and is Bank 1 on the left or the right?

Also, anyone got any view as to what the errors in the radio section could be? I'm thinking it may be a bad connection or defective door speakers, as it doesnt sound 100% right when you shift the balance & fader to that corner?

Front the stated position, cylinder bank 1 should be on the left, with cylinder 1 closest to the front of the car, and 2 and 3 behind that. Cylinder bank 2 should be on the right, having 4, 5, and 6 in the same order.
