Michelin PS2's

I've just swapped from Pirelli PZero Assimetrico all round to Michelin PS2's all round. I paid £200 a tyre fitted & balanced which seemed pretty reasonable to me ... although I know some of you guys have had better prices. I managed to get about 14,000 miles out of the Pirelli's and they still had between 2 and 3 mm of tread left on them.

Initial impressions of the PS2's are favourable. It's a little unfair to compare a used set of Pirelli's to a new set of PS2's but from memory the PS2's seem a little more grippier. Most noticeable is the lack of rim protection on the PS2's compared to the PZero's so I'll be parking even further away from kerbs from now on. However, the highlight is a definite reduction in road noise with the PS2's on.

So based on my impressions to date next time round I'll be sticking with PS2's rather than going back to PZero's ... however there's still a lot of miles to go to change my mind.

Fair play Rich, although I'm surprised by your comment on rim protection... from memory the P-zero's had a little rubber triangle adjacent to the rim, which did very little at all if you rubbed a kerb; whereas the PS2 has a squarer / thicker side wall which gives more substantial protection...

Thinking about it, I noticed this when I changed from P-Zero's to PS2's as there were before/after tyres/alloys stood side by side and I was very surprised by how much more rim protection you got on the PS2.

The testament to this is that I've only scratched one alloy in the last year and a half since I changed to PS2's (famous last words!!!).
