Oil
Changed the oil on my RS4 today.
All I would add to what has been said above is:
That yes the capacity to fill to max mark on dipstick is spot on 10 litres
My oil sump plug was in very tight from the factory (a lot more than 25Nm!). You need to use a good quality 6mm hex key and make sure you tap it in well as the metal of the plug is as soft as putty. So for £1.21, I will be buying a new sump drain plug each time I change the oil, as it is very easy to round the flats on the hex key way.

Not yet.... just keeping a very close eye on the 2nd hand prices! Prices seem to be dropping.... obviously I probably wont get the identical spec if I bought the new one.Daz wrote:Yes, it's a lot cheaper. It takes about an hour and yes a ramp would help as getting all the clips undo on the undertray is a right pain.
Have you bought your RS4 yet Riz?
Probably still go for a sprint blue one.

Basically doing it yourself will save about £100.
As with Daz - it took about an hour.
Nothing too technical if you follow everything written above.
I have a pit in my garage that makes things a lot easier.
Just one thing - you will need quite a large receptical to catch the 10 litres of used oil.
There are a couple of Sprint Blue RS4s on Pistonheads at present going for good prices.

I absolutely love driving my RS4, but there's just so many cases like this of dealers talking out of somewhere where the sun doesn't shine that it takes the edge off the ownership experience.Mikeyboy wrote:My dealer said that he couldn't change the oil to one I have bought myself. IS he talking rubbish as I think or is there some truth to it.
Audi gmbH need to address these sorts of issues inside not only Audi dealers but also inside Audi UK, .... unless they want to go down the Alfa Romeo route (great cars to drive, but an awful ownership experience because of crappy dealers).
