Can anybody tell me how to disable, for the time being, the alarm (if you can via vagcom?) as I am fed up with it going off and or locking the car via the switch inside via the passenge seat!

I heard a rumour of -8 from the current code or something might do it?

Thanks
Brad

sorry i have no idea as the control unit also controls the central locking so if you disable one you will probably disable the other.

from experience i know the control unit also controls stuff like the interior lights.

How about telling us exactly what kind of car? Model year and chassis type would be useful..;-)

I have a S4 (B5) 2000 avant
From 10 days ago -- sorry, didn't go back to the first page.

Anyway, I agree with the above, try subtracting 8 from the current coding. In other words (just an example) if your current coding is 16140, change it to 16132.

Thanks Uwe.

I will give that a try and see how it goes.

I will enable it again once I have got the alarm issue resolved.

Thanks again for all you help.

Thanks
Brad

I do not understand what you're trying to tell me. Please elaborate.

OK, cool. Sometimes my brain (mother tongue German, but conditioned to American English for the past 40 years) doesn't follow everything coming from you guys..;-)
