rs2 and LPG

Post by veg » Thu Feb 08, 2007 12:37 am

Hi All,

recently joined the site having found the address in a car mag.

I've always been an Audi man and would love an RS2. I hope I'm not swearing by asking this question but has anyone done an lpg conversion on one? I'd probably need to use it as an every day car. Currently driving a A3 2.0 TDI sport you can see why fuel consumption is of concern. While i don't expect comparable figures, a conversion might go some way to softening the blow!

Any advise Appreciated

Cheers,

VEG

Nearly bought one off a guy in Belgium. He'd had it from new and it had racked up 300000kms!
Engine was rebuilt, and LPG conversion done, at around 250000kms. Said he'd never had any problems and that bhp was about 350.
Anyway, I missed out on deal ( £6000!) and the car went to Finland.
However, I checked into getting it done over here, and was strongly advised against it.
I think the bottom line is that there are some LPG cowboys who will happily tell you that they can convert anything - they can, but you want it to last!
Check around though as I'm pretty sure that I read on another forum that someone has their 5 cylinder S4 converted to LPG.
