How about an S2? - you'll pick up a 3B example for well under £5,000, or even a high miler ABY within your budget.

Not bad on the fuel, go like stink when you want to, and an "S" to boot :kissmyrings:

well before I ended up with the S2, I was seriously considering a Golf TDI - nice little motor, good on the fuel, and enough poke not to be embarrassed

Passat is a top little motor in the TDI flavour, pool car we had at work would have the traction control kicking in in second gear and still did an average of 52 to the gallon. in fact that car was responsible for the only speeding ticket i've had in the last 15 yrs and i ride a Suzuki GSX-R1000 as well

now this has serious fun factor..6 forward speed and remapped to 71bhp with a turbo..just had new disc's and pads..

dave, saw the new 1 at bike show, very nice ! but still i`m sure the older ones are just as nice to ride.
woody, although the fun factor would be there. ( laffin all the time your in it ) not exactly on my maybe list .
