Cheers Craig, sounds like a bargain to get TMC working. Is it any good?

Craig, me again. Trying desperately not to stalk you, but you would appear to be the world’s expert on all things sat-nav.

I've ordered the ITIS disc from navshop, cheers for the link. The woman told me on the phone that I have to listen to Classic FM for TMC to work. Is that right? I think I’d rather get stuck in a traffic jam.

Still, at least the UK map will be up to date. I wonder if they're still mis-spelling the road where I live.

The woman is wrong. There is a separate tuner for TMC only - that tunes to Classic FM and you can continue listening to any radio station you like FM, MW or LW.

Thank christ, I'm too young for Classic FM, honestly.

Cheers Dave.

Spoke to dealer today re the Audi supplied CD's (nb for RNS-D not E) - the latest ones do NOT have the TMC capability, so if we want TMC on the RNS-D then it's the Blaupunkt disc( http://www.navshop.com/en/product/unite ... 3280/101/1 ).

Crazy that Audi don't supply the disks with it on, but there you go!

Makes sense, when you have "TA" on and you've got it to record the announcements, the play back is a poor quality.

You guys are aware of this function?

Radio records traffic reports through the day and you can play back when ever you want by pressing "TA"

I've not tried it out, but I know it's there. I think it's the TP function on my RNS-D system. When I switch it off there is some sort of message about pressing in the TP button for two second to activate TP memo.

TBH, my radio reception has been screwed for a couple of months and was only fixed yesterday, so I've only just been playing around with the iTMC feature today. I like the 'Read' feature in the settings menu which displays the texts of the traffic announcements as and when they are broadcast.
